Leadership is a very important topic in management. With the help of a good leader, organizations can benefit tremendously.
Leadership is a process to influence, impact, direct and guide other’s behavior to accomplish some given tasks in a given situation. It is the ability of a manager to inculcate and maintain high motivation and zeal among the subordinates.
A good leader creates a vision, motivates people to engage with and join that vision, ensures the delivery of the vision and makes a team of highly motivated individuals to realize that vision.
Leadership Characteristics
- It is an interpersonal process. It involves different individuals and directs them towards a common goal by persuasion.
- It assumes some qualities to be present in human beings such as a sense of responsibility, maturity etc
- It is a group process. It is not possible with a single individual. There must be two or more people for this process to happen.
- There is no best leadership style. It is all situation based and highly subjective.
